About Us
Full Circle is our family owned and operated ranch. We specialize in producing some of the best 100% Grass Fed Bison Meat available. Click on testimonials to see what our customers think about our meat and our service!
Full Circle Bison is our family’s ranch located in the Williams valley in the southwest corner of Oregon. The home ranch, operated and owned by Tobias and Abigail Hatfield, is home to a herd of 90 bison.
All of our bison graze on certified organic pastures, spring through fall, and are fed either certified organic hay or no-spray hay during the winter. In spring of 2006, the first certified organic bison calves were born on the home ranch. By the summer of 2009, we will be offering certified organic Bison meat for sale!
The resident bison herd consists of cows and calves and a few breed bulls. The rest of our two-year old bison are carefully selected and field-harvested when their meat is at the peak of flavor and tenderness.
We are committed to raising premium quality, organic grass-fed bison in an ethical and environmentally sustainable way.
Our ranch is unique in that we harvest our bison in the field with a state-inspected harvest truck (instead of hauling stressed bison on the highway to a USDA plant). After the bison are harvested, the truck takes the carcasses to our local state-inspected butcher where the bison meat is custom cut, vacuum-sealed, and flash frozen. This method of harvesting bison is by far the safest, most humane, and most conducive to producing tender bison meat.
Abigail and I are proud of our sustainable farming practices and the abundance of
wildlife that share our ranch. Black bear, mountain lion, coyote, golden eagles,
and our mascots, a nesting pair of Black-shouldered Kites, are all predators that
pass through Full Circle Ranch. Both Wild Cat Creek and the West Fork of Williams
Creek cross our land. We have been careful to fence our bison out of these riparian
areas, while creating wildlife corridors that allow other animals to have access
to the water and trails.
With the help of the Department of Fish and Wildlife and our local Watershed Council, we have improved salmon habitat in the creeks that run through the ranch. In 2003, the ranch was certified Salmon-Safe. Here is an excerpt from the Letter of Certification:
“Based on its August 4th site visit, Agroecology Northwest reported that Full Circle meets all of the Salmon-Safe required conditions including protection or riparian buffers and wetlands … and protection of native biodiversity. In fact, Agroecology’s certification report states that your farm is an outstanding operation.”
Bison are naturally hardy animals suited to the grasslands of North America. They
thrive on our clean pastures and fresh water, producing the finest, 100% grass-fed,
bison meat available. We feel that raising bison brings people, animals, and the
land back to a healthy balance – thus our name – Full Circle Bison Ranch.
Thank you for trying our bison.
Sincerely,
Tobias & Abigail Hatfield

Just purchased some of your buffalo – ground, last night at New Seasons in Portland. They were doing a “tasting” as customers entered into the store. OMG, I have never had such great tasting buffalo meat! And I have bought buffalo at Fred Meyer stores before. Went and bought a couple of pounds right away and am making a meatloaf tonight. I think we’ll have Buffalo on the Christmas table too. Off to check out your recipes now.
Cheers,

Hello Abigail and Tobias,
Our buffalo arrived last night FedEx at about 5pm. A welcome surprise a day early. So we fired up the grill tonight, and are about to cook some buffalo ribeyes. Thanks for the helpful cooking instructions – much like how we cook elk and Texas longhorn beef (that hasn’t been fed grain).
And, I want to especially thank you for the careful packaging. We have purchased buffalo meat from other locales in the past, but it’s mostly been wrapped meat. We really appreciate the vacuum seal. Thanks, and have a wonderful holiday season,
Lisa

Dear Tobias,
This is a belated thank you for the buffalo short ribs. We are enjoying the bison meat and would recommend it to anyone. The fact that it is organic, makes a good product even better.

Hi.
Yesterday we picked up a 1/4 buffalo, and I just wanted to tell you that we had buffalo filet m. last night, and that meat was absolutely superb. We finished half of the pound of jerkey. I have had a lot of jerky in my life, the this jerky was the best, and it is because of the way it is done; it's not too peppered, it doesn't have too much seasoning on it, it is absolutely perfect and I want to thank you very very much, we really are enjoying it. I really appreciate it, and thank you.

To the tenders of the Full Circle bison, Thank you so much… For raising such excellent bison meat… For caring for our earth and our bodies by being organic... For being a part of our community. Your products are superb. Your jerky or your buffalo salami are almost always a part of my lunch for backpacking and hiking trips. The buffalo sausage, as well, is divine. I’m so glad you do what you do!
Sincerely,
